Château Prieuré-Lichine
Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend
Slight BlackBerry, Chocolate, woodforest, woody,
Dry. Mid+acidity, dissolved and small rest of tannin
Best time to drink, chateau person said.
I felt that acidity relatively stands out, and lack of concentration even if dense oak aroma filled in the blank instead.

This Prieure Lichine magnum was just splendid. I am not a big fan of the 2007 vintage, yet it seems that this Margaux Grand Cru has only improved over the last 8 years.
The wine has a deep garnet color, a tempting fruity yet spicy nose, of black current, cedar, spices, coffee, soil and minerals, medium to full body, with firm tannins that open up over 3 hours to be fully integrated, a lovely acidity to carry the wine, at least in this format, for another decade. My score 89, drink to 2025.

Itty bitty Margaux and roasted rack of lamb with potatoes, spring onions, and baby spinach. Decanted 2 hours. Opened with air. More savory than fruit driven. Some oak-derived sweetness, somewhat drying finish. Not sure what direction this is headed. Solid for a Monday night. I think I paid $17 for the half-bottle.

Apr 29th, 2014Quite good aroma including oak, sweet black currant. Matured concentration. With Bordeaux nuance with tobacco etc. It should be due to more than 10 years. 2007 @2140, xiaduo -, 210310-210528
