Made by Emile Peynaud, this is a world class Greek Cabernet Sauvignon easily mistaken for Bordeaux. After 11 years the wine shows classic muted cassis, loamy earth, unique dustiness and an elegant completeness that is difficult to describe, some forest floor/compost, but clean and crafty with plenty of fruit and verve left for my palate. The wine begs for roast pork or a flat iron steak with reduction and mushrooms. A Cab for Burghounds, mature, soft, complex with cut in the finish. Brilliant for the money.

So far I like all the wines ive had from Greece. This drinks like a Bordeaux blend with new world character. Dried dates, raisins and fresh blackberry on the nose with some spicy cedar scents. Tastes really nice, lots of extracted black fruit and pepper. Long vanilla cinnamon finish. Good stuff.

Hello Greece!! Greek wine has really been growing on me - this well aged 05' has heaps of sweet, ripe, wild berries on the nose, oak and light spice. Bordeaux. It's a nose you can really sit on. The body is medium light with super well integrated tannin. Lovely. I can't say I found any faults with this. And at $24!? Thanks Ann @hitimewine Costa Mesa for your always great recommendations!

Garnet colour and clean to the eye. Acidity is definitely there, medium to high tannins. Smooth and leathery to the palate. Aromas of bouquet, dark fruits, minerals, well rounded and balanced @Yohji Saint Laurent
