Good showing for vintage. Stalky, slightly green, character down the spine of wine, but Merlot provides good fruit and flesh.

Beautifully layered aromatics of crushed ripe plum, tinder box, tobacco leaf, and sandalwood. Palate is very closed still with very pronounced tannin. This is going to be a really nice wine in a couple years.

Pretty deep ruby , quite narrow rim , touches of ruby and garnet. Quite austere , more mineral , grafite and dark cassis , touch of sea spray . More red fruit on the palate , with touches of grafite . Medium bodied and quite refined on the palate , tannin is quite strict and refreshing acidity . Long and interesting on the finish . This needs more time but is a success for the vintage, albeit it in a slightly classic , austere and aloof style . Better in 5-8 years and last another 5-10.
