The Mercurey appellation is located in the Burgundy region of France. 100% Pinot Noir, medium Ruby with aromas of ripe red fruits and toasty notes. On the palate flavors of ripe blackerry and cherry with notes of citrus, spice and earthy oak. Fine tannins, drinking well. Tasting Sample!

A red burg I was happy to let my wife invade with ice cubes! Competent, lost at the back of the cottage wine cellar. Astringency that puckers a bit.

Pretty good after a little air, but little of the fruit normally found in the 2009s. This Alfio Moriconi Selection is a Total Wine regular, and while better than many other TW imports, there's not much going on. Nice mineral, a little cherry and leather; pleasing with no major defects. Fairly light and bright.

Light red with a wide white rim.

Light red fruits on the nose with minerals and bacon.

Light body, dry and tart on the attack, with bacon, cherries, dirt and spices.
Medium Tart finish with spineless tannins and earth notes.

Too simplistic and flaby for my taste.

14% alcohol by volume.

2014 vintage. Medium bodied, black cherry and black currant flavors with a slight spice finish.

Seems like it needs some time to mellow, acidity overwhelms the fruit. Still on the fence about this one.
