Balance is an apropos description for this wine. It has fruit, earth, acid, and tannins in harmonious proportions. This wine would be better with a dash more oak for structure. The flavors of cherry and mushroom are spot on but could be a little more concentrated for a 1er Cru.

My first French Pinot Noir. It is very nice. Definitely fruit forward; fresh, delightful flavor of cherry and plum. Acidic but finishes smooth. $39 at Total Wine.

We had the 2005 Vintage on 4/30/17. Strawberry, raspberry, mushroomy and earth in a medium bodied wine with a smooth finish. The tannins are smoothed out. Very Burgundian.
