I was underwhelmed by this bottle from a label that has produced such great Rhone wine blends.
We started drinking it by itself, then with pretzels, then with a hearty soup and salad and the wine never seemed to open up and express itself.
Perhaps it needed to be opened up earlier? Perhaps the food pairing wasn't ideal?
Dense purple fruit, medium dry, plum, pencil shavings, earthiness...
