2014 vintage. A blend of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon and 47% Merlot. Before the Lorenzetti family took over, Pédesclaux was a perennial underachiever. They made huge investments to improve the quality and 2014 is maybe the first that lives up to the Grand Cru Classé status. The nose has good Pauillac typicity with cassis, lead pencil and some cedar. Good concentration of dark fruit, ripe and round, with ripe tannin and good fresh mineral length. While it is no match for the 2015, 2016 and especially the 2018 and the spectacular 2020, it is a great effort at a very reasonable price. Tastes good already, but will benefit from further ageing.

This is same vintage which I drank 2 years ago. Almost same decanting time like 1.5 hours, much different. Aroma is same, oak and black currant. Tanning is rounded more and drinkable. But 3 years or more, it would be much better. Last time, it was solid, then I felt it would be concentrated later, but this would be mid body and elegancy. 2014 @1663, xiaduo Piccola, 211116-211119

Good aroma! Black currant! One hour decanting would be good enough to show its taste. @1425, Xiaduo, 190827

Some days you open a bottle of the good stuff and relax - this was a day for that and this is def the wine for it. Was going to hold it for a meal, but glad I opened and poured. Great, smooth and easily accessible Bordeaux. Full bodied, but light on the palette like a boxer doing ballet. Wonderful on the nose with a tannic ripe red fruit and leathery finish. I love Bordeaux.

Perfect for Sunday night. Nice ripe plums. Still can't smell too much with this nasty cold but it really doesn't matter.
