Light ... pretty drinkable but I'm not blown away. It's a little lacking in depth.

Tasting lots of tar and leather. More savory than fruit.

Changing rating here, there's a lot going on. The Syrah is deep with tar and blue fruits, cab adds another dimension of cassis. Lots of tannins and graphite. This is a nice wine.

(Open one day) Getting bruised red stone fruit, wet hay & autumn leaves on the nose. Decaying strawberry and wet tobacco on the palate (like when you tried chewing tobacco at 13 and accidentally swallowed some—). Big harsh tannins are overpowering any remaining fruit. Weird. This has morphed into a strange bizarro-wine after only a day. This was really good yesterday, WTF happened?

Deep, almost opaque ruby color, fairly heavily extracted. Moderate dried red fruit (cherry, fruit leather) and hints of anis on the nose. On the palate there is some dusted cocoa, cassis & toasted vanilla (oak?), as well as some light savory elements (e.g. the anisic aspect of basil). Nice, lightly chalky minerality. Medium tannins, medium acids. Finish: medium/medium plus. I like this wine! $23

This was our last bottle of a case bought about 5 years ago. Decent balance, calmed fruit and a hint of bacon. Went nicely with a flatiron and grilled veg.
