At £11 this is good value. Succulent ripe fruit flavours but not too sweet as it's such a natural taste. Better value than any M&S wine would be. Glad I went to a small merchant.

This is going to be one of my wines for thanksgiving.

Red fruits and savory notes on the nose. Light spicy fruits bright acidity soft tannins.

Second tasting in another context. After drinking higher-end wines, it still recovers very greedy and of great drinkability, even if the aromatic depth remains that of a wine in its price range. Silky mouth touch, charm of uninterventionist wines. A perfect southern glouglou, in tune with the times.

Black-purple fruit dress. Black stone fruits, plum, fig, blood orange, floral vegetable notes glycine, orange blossom. Beautiful concentration of fruit typical of cold extractions. Little or no sulphur. The material in the mouth is very supple. Beautiful modern greedy wine, simple and elegant.

Robe fruits noirs-violacée. Fruits noirs à noyau, prune, figue, orange sanguine, notes végétales florales glycines, fleur d’oranger. Belle concentration de fruit typique des extractions à froid. Peu ou pas de souffre. La matière en bouche est d’une grande souplesse. Très beau glouglou moderne, simple et élégant.

Nothing screams for Carignan like sub-zero wisconsin weather and an amazing charcuterie board at my sisters James Beard finalist restaurant. Carignan has never been known for finesse, and this is no exception. But who cares? This wine warms the soul with its chewy tannins, dark fruit and warm alcohol. The salty cheese and meats help draw out more fruit from this wine and fill the mid-palate where Carignan can be a bit hollow. A perfect pairing and joy to drink!

Exactly what I love with a Languedoc red. We decanted for two hours and enjoyed a nose of stewed plum and star anise. A blue-violet colour, full bodied but not over-powering. Flavours of blackberry, fig, bell pepper and tobacco. We paired it with grilled salmon done with a maple, miso glaze.
