Château Mourgues du Gres
Galets Rosés Costières-de-Nîmes Rosé Blend
Fawning over this sub-$20 rose. Light orange color but matches perfectly with an orange peel aroma mixed with white flowers and some white pepper. Really a pretty scent. Subtle flavors of strawberry and melon. Nice edge of minerality that comes through toward the end. Easy drinking and good tasting. Medium finish.

Jun 9th, 2023Watermelon and some bubble gum character up front. But great concentration- a lot of fruit, candy, texture, depth. Some sweetness. This is a rosé to drink now or age.

Aug 7th, 2022Bright orange. Ripe red berry and citrus fruit scents are complemented by a building floral nuance. Smoothly blends weight and energy, offering fresh strawberry, bitter cherry and blood orange flavors that are sharpened by a spicy white pepper flourish. Closes smooth, broad and long, with a snap of minerality and the floral note repeating. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, July 2022)

Oh hell now that I’m Court certified I’m SO happy to drink things I won’t be tested on! Southern Rhône/almost southern coast rosé all day every day! This almost has the nuance of the Tavel I so love. Most Syrah then the 40 % Grenache kicks in with red fruit for days. Not quite so balanced (alcohol high-ish and acid not quite so integrated but this is under ten bucks!) as I may wish but dang tasty. Let’s do this beat by beat.
Eye: damn that’s almost fuschia with added salmon nose: ripe strawberries and stones Tongue; blueberries those dang Syrah indicators rear their delicious head. Along with strawberries and underbrush and a wet stone or two. This is a wine to grab by the hand and take on a weekend picnic. May not be a soul mate but you won’t regret minute together.

Herbal, tomato leaf nose. Kinda taste that way too, like when you use bread to swipe the last remnants of tomato sauce in your bowl. Dry, lightly fruity finish.
