Napa Valley Chardonnay

Always good.

This bottle had not been stored properly for the past 2-3 years but has managed to not degrade. Very pleased to see how well it drank.

Cool variable vintage. 10 months aging in 100% French oak. Acacia, minerality (stony), white apricot, green apples, sweet spices and yeasty notes.

Citrus, green apple and stone fruit. Still very crisp, did not show 10 yrs of age. No Malo and only 10% new oak, very restrained for Napa Chardonnay

First time trying Mountelena Chardy.
2009 apparently one of the best vintages ever made.
I found this wine incredibly complex, maybe because of the vintage and the demi bouteille. After six month I still remember lots of fruity and creamy aromas and texture.

Drinking beautifully right now. Turning not golden yellow with moderate oak. Tart citrus with smooth aftertaste. Wonderful!

2009 shows a stronger oak influence and a creamier texture than future vintages along with a haze or a lack of fine filtration. If you like that in your Chardonnay, then this is for y'all!!!

Slight citrus tones, hint honey, very smooth, lighter side

2009 Chardonnay. Not overly buttery. Nice amount of oak. Amazing experience at the winery.

Magnum 2009 Chateau Montelena Chardonnay. Dinner w K, A&S at Press. Was a little funky and acidic at first but really opened up nicely throughout the meal.
