Château Meyney
La Chapelle de Meyney St. Estèphe Red Bordeaux Blend
Good tannins structure some nice fruits, but a tad young and tight. Taste later.

Give it a good hour or so in then tannins fade, it’s like it’s enough good structure to be able to enjoy the wine but you get wonderful flavors of fresh rose and chewing on green herbs that go into beef Bourgogne and all of that fun stuff. The tannins fade into velvet, not Lou Reed in the velvet underground, but an iron fist with a velvet glove. There’s a solidity behind it that smacks you in the face with delicious plum and green herb and just floral flavors that would make Monet slap himself in jealousy. Drinking this wine after giving it time to decant makes you realize that you actually have lost that loving feeling and need to drink more wine.

Mar 28th, 2021Leather and intense fruit and mouth coating silky tannins. This one reminds me of a girl who can get ready in five minutes, she smells incredible and her make up is on point. Doesn’t need a lot of effort to look her best or do her best because she is what she is, just like this wine.

Mar 11th, 2020Beautiful Blackie, this is a 2010 that reaps dividends, elegant, aromatic, enduring finish and superbly balanced. For the fans of super flinty haut-medocs this will not have the tannen for you, but the fruit feels century fantastic...once in this century was granted this flesh

Mar 10th, 2017Stringent floral/current aroma fades away after 1.5 to 2 hours' decanting, and the beautiful character reveals. On the nose there are ripe plum, vanilla, freshly crushed almond nuts, black current, leather and a hint of pen ink. Very smooth and rounded front and mid palate with certain degrees of licorice. Full- body, medium+ acidity. Velvety tannins reveals later with a mix of slight bitterness and bursting plumy fruitiness. Finishes long. Thirst quenching.
