Dark fruit -baked plum, tart raspberry, baking spices. Has a mossy, earthy quality, with the flavor of soft white mushrooms and cedar. Pet a Bedlington Terrier while drinking this.

Wow, still holding up well... Digging it. Tobacco, baking spices, cedar, love it.

Mature aromas of redfruits and earthy notes, along with some of the famous “1980s Cordier funk,” at age 38 this still somewhat primary-fruited gem has many more years ahead of it still, though drinking beautifully tonight and has shed the drying tannins that showed in many 1986 Bordeaux, amazing bargain in the circa $15 price range, very fine!!

Solid older Bordeaux, some Cordier funk, seems middle-aged, medium-long finish, good, not great.

The 2001 Château Meyney showcases slightly green tannins and an earthy, rustic expression. Behind the rustic wall, shy notes of kirsch emerge. Pale to medium garnet, medium bodied and closing with a relatively short and drying finish, there's actually not much on offer here. Drink now

Solid older Bordeaux, great color, youthful, of course also showing some of the 1980s “Cordier Funk”, but complex, medium-long finish, lovely older Bordeaux!! (This followed a super-corked 1986 Haut-Bages-Liberal, which was a freaking drain pour!!)

there was a small window in which the tannins emerged alongside the fruit that was more vibrant than expected. exceeded expectations (esp since the top 20% of the cork had rot).

Still yputhful medium-dark ruby purple color, initially a bit of medicinal and herbal aromatic notes, medium-bodied, still playing about its relative rank, but seems ready to drink, solid older Bordeaux!
