Lacking a bit. Nice secondary character but not the best

Tasted blind. Dark tawny with bricking rims. Animalistic nose with notes of ripe black fruit, cooked meat, plums, earth and a little anise. Very rich in the mouth. Powerful and complex. I guessed Cote Rotie. Nobody guessed Bordeaux. Still young but oh so silky right now.

The beautiful nose was worth the price, tired with muted fruit.

Dark ruby red. Super ripe cherries covered in chocolate and dipped in brandy, hints of truffle, slightly funky with barnyard on the nose. Viscous, luscious and velvety, packed with endless reserves of ripe fruit with just a fading reminder of silky tannin. This wine shall be sipped and swirled in small quantity slowly pealing away the many layers of flavor the palate has to offer, all that wrapped in a blanket of refreshing acidity that keeps you coming back for more. Truly spectacular. Drinking great now with mostly primary characteristics. Impressive length and balance.

Definitely among the best merlot-based wines I have had. Gorgeous in all respects

Solid medium-dark color, some bricking on the edge, lovely floral, perfumed aromas, moderately rich yet layered fruit, great balance, long, lingering finish, really a great 1982 Pomerol!!

This is just amazing, lush, rich, balanced, so, so fresh, super long finish, pretty much a near-perfect 1982 Pomerol!!

Just spectacular. Still full of vitality and smooth as silk. Dusty books, leather and tobacco with just the right amount of dark fruit to balance it out. The nose is super classic BDX. My only criticism of this wine is that the finish isn’t as long as I hoped, but that is a minor point. Had to go all out for wife’s pre-birthday celebration with some Aussie lamb for a classic pairing.
