Dec 25th, 2016Fruit and spice aromas with a classic palate--m+ but fine tannins, plenty of acid, m+ body, and flavors of dried cherries, red currants, blueberries, cedar, truffle, and violets, with hints of savory spice and some faint roasted green bell peppers. Aromatically open, there's also plenty of volatility here, and the overall impression is solid but rustic. Was great drinking now--with more time, curious if more tertiary flavor will develop without drying out the fruit too much.
