This was a baby just starting to come around. Animal and rustic leather notes day 1, then menthol and chocolate on. day 2. Rich and opaque with good structure.

A nice St Julien from a great producer in a great vintage. Aromatics are excellent - as is the mid palate, with a ton of dark fruit and earth. The finish has not come together as much as I’d like or expect at this point - a bit muddled with slightly subdued acid.
