2018 vintage. One of those rare Margaux estates that has not been absorbed by Crus Classés. A blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot. Owner Eric Léglise did a great job here, a textbook refined Margaux. Cassis, flowers and cedar wood. Ripe black fruit and a little of the heat of the vintage, all balanced by mouthwatering acidity. Interestingly the vineyards are covered with flowers in an attempt to promote biodiversity. Living near, I believe I should visit this estate soon. Highly recommended. Abv. 14%.

I cannot sense “small notes of lilac associated with touches of fresh violet” (smile) nevertheless, 2019 vintage is the one of Margaux I should keep in my wine rack.
