Pencil shavings, black pepper, touch of pyrazine. Balance of tart and ripe black & red fruit. Great value.

Not very good. There was a hint of murky terroir which was appreciated, but the wine was thin and tasted hot despite being just 13.5 abv. Cherry and Armagnac soaked stem. Even the bouquet was lozenge- esque.

Probably good at some point … but just tastes tired now. Maybe I got a bad bottle.
EDIT: I tried this in 2021 and liked it. So unsure if it just didn’t age well/wasn’t stored well or if it’s just variation

Nose: dust, pencil shavings, mocha, dark cherry, a little rubber (like auto tires), cooked veggies, some spice I can’t place. Promising! Taste: pencil, wood, cherry, green vegetables, smooth. Not as complex as I would like but still very good! 90, wife says 89. Good value @ $16.
