Second red wine at Table #2 at Oakton Wine Shops Bucket List Tasting.

Medium to deep garnet red with fine sediment. Layered nose with dark cocoa, dark red berries, mushrooms, and damp leaves. Medium plus to heavy acidity with medium tannins (6/10). Well balanced with red cherries, mushrooms, truffles and earthy notes on the palate. Medium to medium plus body with a medium plus to long finish. Drink till 2026.

Big, bold, brooding red wine night. This Saint Émilion GC has ATTITUDE! Medes another 1-2 yrs.

I've tried multiple vintages from this grand cru producer and this one is a huge standout. Also happens to cost twice as much as the others. They held it back (out I necessity) so it's available now along the the $60ish 07.

2005, truly an extraordinary vintage! I could smell the ripe black cherries and licorice from the other room. First sip, nutmeg and juniper spice ... a nice, well balanced lively acidity.

Damp forest floor and mushrooms on open. A 30 minute decant helped this wine blossom into tart cherry, old leather and a bit of cigar box. Med tannins. Dark chocolate and spice hold thru the velvety finish. Still evolving and great value on an extensive list
