Beautiful wine to celebrate our 24th. Lush soft tannins and solid acid went great with the dry aged rib eye and early Fall Chanterelles. Opened up nicely over 3 hours in decanter. Lovely soft dusky leather and wild rose with wafts of bell pepper

Deep garnet red with brick edges. Layered and aged nose coated in dried cherries, truffles, damp forest floor, wet tobacco, and some light baking spices. Medium tannins (5.5/10) and acidity with a medium body. Delicious and well balanced palate with red cherries, dried currants, tobacco, earthiness and leather. Long and lingering finish. Drink till 2025.

Kept a library of bottles from various special evenings: this is one of them - Lascombes was special to us: Caroline worked for Bass, who owned it. We stayed in the chateau a few times, and loved every minute there
