1998 vintage. Considered a right bank vintage (like 1964), this Cabernet Sauvignon dominated (75%) wine comes as a great surprise. Robert Parker wrote in 2000 that "the tannin might never fully dissipate", but then it did. Classic Bordeaux with more charm in the mouth than in the rustic nose. Still tastes amazingly young with still good fruit and freshness and ... dissipated tannin. Not very long but a delight to drink and terrific value at around 21 euro.

Still bursts with ripe black fruit and leather, anise, black pepper. Dusty soil, firm tannins, a savory element too.

Definitely over the hill. Funky and slightly vinegary at the edges of the palate. Can taste the historical greatness, earthy lichen and tree bark, soft cherries and pepper
