Château Lagrange
Saint-Julien Red Bordeaux Blend
St Julien is the most "Californian" Bordeaux style for a reason and Lagrange is not an exception. Ripe Dark fruits, cedar, leather, violets, coffee, firm and soft tannins. Great value for a third growth.

Jul 7th, 2016Lagrange is doing very well in recent years, I loved the 2010 and this 2012 Saint Julien Grand Cru is also doing very well, especially given this vintage. A blend of 62% CS, 32% Merlot and 6% Petit Verdot, resulting in a deep garnet color, a lavish nose of cassis, black cherries, black current, spicy cedar and coffee, full round body, rich, dense with great acidity and fruit, round yet firm tannins and a long delicious finish. A well balanced wine still young but with great potential. My score 89, drink to 2031

Oct 21st, 2014Color is still with violet, elegant aroma, I would like to say good balance, but it should still be young, compared particularly with its second, 2008. After 2 hours, finally it became a bit mellowed. Black currant could be felt with enough tannin. But still lots of acid. @4730, Uki-JH, 161101-170101

Dec 31st, 2016Very deep garnet. Expressive spicy nose with black and red berries Medium body, fine tannins. Rather strict wine that should develop more in few years. Assemblage: CabS 67%, Merlot 30%, Petit Verdot 3%. Maceration of 2-3 weeks. Grand vin is blended in French oak barrels (60% new) and aged for 21 months. Traditional for Borrdeaux filtering with egg whites and racking with candle light. 3rd Growth Grand Cru Classe in 1855. Also produce 2nd wine Le Haut-Médoc de Lagrange and white wine Les Arums de Lagrange. Rating 3,8/5
