Annual guys WTF Christmas party with spouses. Lots of great wine. I’ll post my highlights with pics I got.
A beautiful and elegant wine that didn’t need much time to unravel. I had a glass of this fairly close to pop and pour, and then I took my second glass and put it off to the side until the evening was drawing to a close, and both were very similar. This is perfectly integrated and impeccably balanced. This is classic, high quality Bordeaux at maturity. Expressive notes of violets, herbs de Provence, leather, cassis, and dusty/earthy blackberries. On the palate, the weight is just fantastic! Pure and clean. Plums, black cherries wrapped in tobacco leaves, and cedar. Not going anywhere for a while, but the primary and secondary notes are at 50/50 right now so if you enjoy that type of balanced profile, open! A treat to enjoy.
