So two hours in this is still a muscular yet green pepper linear wine.

Dense tobacco and forest floor

Pauillac APC, 13%. We enjoyed this bottle with typical Tuscan "antipasti" and it was a real surprise because at first the bottle seemed not in perfect condition, but after decanting for a couple of hours it was really nice and elegant!

An old friend— 17 years later. Very integrated. Needs time to open up— decant might be too harsh. Secondary into tertiary. Floral lilac nose, great length.

305 xmas dinner. Decanted and needed a good hour.

18/20 (94/100) Красивый и сложный букет ароматов спелых ягод чёрной смородины и черники, вяленого чернослива, шоколада, табака и корицы. Тельное с высокой кислотностью и довольно интенсивными, но мягкими танинами. Спелые чёрные ягоды и табак во вкусе. Продолжительное послевкусие с легкой горчинкой. (22.05.17)

very complex taste with full body

Opened a 1998 and decanted for several hours...the tanins were mellowed out but the overall fruit-forward complexity of a first growth Bordeaux was just not there. It displayed hints of brilliance; good earth flavors and lots of vanilla and spice, but only in fleeting moments. Clearly the '98 vintage is below standard. That said, I expected more from Lafite and I was disappointed.

So so. Won't buy again.

Beautiful flowers bouquet with dark forest fruit, spices, black currants, cocoa, cigar box, pencil milling waste.
Also in the mouth that typical black Pauillac cassis fruit, fine tannins, and a medium aftertaste.
Not in the decanter but so out of the bottle, A little closed at first, but later in the glass comes this well, this wine is now fine mature, currently 92 DSP
