On the strength of the 2015, I picked up a couple of the 2009 La Vieille Cure. Dark fruit, tar, tertiary elements starting to come through. Really tasty.

2009. Not uninteresting, but at this point not enough fruit left to balance out still-present wood and some decent mineral and tertiary Bordeaux flavors. Like this producer for a cheap Bdx fix but need younger vintage. Going to see if my 2010 has much left.

A terrific little Bordeaux for the price, striking a good balance between its black fruit, mild earthiness, and faintly rustic nose. The whole package says Bordeaux, but is inviting to New World palates just the same. After 4-5 years in the cellar, this wine is a winner in most vintages and certainly is in '09.

I was surprised how well this was showing. Grabbed a 375ml for dinner when my wife said she was under the weather and wouldn't be having wine. Really good on pop-n-pour and only got better with air.

Oaky and lacking some fruit but still a lovely Merlot with good structure, tannins and length.

Harsh and didn't soften after time. Nice flavored, but couldn't get past the astringency

Okay but a long way from really good. We could taste the alcohol even two hours after opening the bottle. It settled down a bit later into the evening, but we were disappointed with this vintage, as we really enjoyed the 2000 vintage several years ago.
