Took quite a time to open up, decanted around 2 hours
But the wait rewarded
A fine St Julien which is built to last and have tucked away the balance to a few more years

Still just a baby. Muted on the nose. Dusty earth and dried violets. Lots of tannin and acid , needs more time in the cellar for sure. High alcohol 14.5% but doesn’t show it. Lots of backbone in it now.

Little young but loved it. In 5 years might be fantastic but would definitely drink again. Ie.

2018 vintage. The 2018 Bordeauxfest continues (but sadly over with this specimen). Dark dense spearmint plummy nose. High acid. Medium body. Respectfully giving up just enough to rate but clearly needs a week at the beach. Everything in due time, I suppose. Big tannin reservoir and built to revisit in a solid twenty. Maybe hit it again in a baker’s dozen bender for giggles but it structurally lacks a sense of humo(u)r so best not to. Serious stuff.
