This was perfect in terms of being a delightfully smooth but rich sipper. Medium minus acid, medium plus tannins, rich blackberries, black cherries, black AND red currants, but still dry as hell thanks to a hint of sage and soil. Adding Cabernet Franc to Merlot is the thing. It adds all the stuff that a slow and doddering Merlot wants and a hint of Cabernet Sauvignon structure and elegance ties the bow. I feel like this could use one more year but silly silly me only ordered one bottle. But I'll enjoy this one whilst it is here.

Paragon’s special. Bouquet of blackberries and currents. Initial mild silky taste of darks fruits with a delicate finish. But swirl it and it opens up to more depth.
