12yrs young...still dark and brooding. The front palate and finish here were very powerful...chalky and underripe blackberry, old fig, saddle leather and tobacco. The mid palate felt a bit light/hollow (a smoky plum note), but this didn’t have the opportunity to open up as we didn’t have time to decant.

Boring stuff, with sweet, dried out fruit, extracted tannins dominating as there's no true stuffing underneath. Oaky finish, lacking complexity and finesse.

After 13 years of aging, this wine has softened and become nicely integrated. There is a nice taste of vanilla and oak. Not as powerful as some of the bigger Margaux wines but still nicely enjoyable, especially for an otherwise unremarkable vintage in Bordeaux.

Excellent Bordeaux, needs to be decanted for over an hour. Early on the nose was contained. After a while it opened up to bright dark fruit and a little tobacco. It does have some tannins, but won't overly dry your mouth.

In a lovely spot for current drinking, notes of sous bois and earthiness, still some bramble fruit, tannins a little jagged

Tasted blind I thought this was an 03. Pretty modern in style, but good fruit underlying a bunch of structure and a touch of alcohol heat.
