An incredibly beautiful left bank Bordeaux. Needed a while to open in the decanter for smooth and minorly grippy tannins, with notes of pepper, leather, hints of fresh red fruit on the tip of the tongue and with purple fruit on the palate. Lovely.

Dec 31st, 2023Immediately after coravin-ing (is that a verb?) a glass...There is no question this an aged left bank BDX. On the nose, a dusty leather chair in a cedar library. In the mouth, very evolved heavily-Cab Sav, dark fruit, iron, dried flowers and leather. No tannins, not much acid. Lacking much of a mid palate. Medium-long finish. Not at all a bad example of a Margaux, but maybe slightly over the hill. Still very enjoyable.

Feb 27th, 2020Perhaps it would have benefited from more air, but after 60 min open and 30 in the glass this is tannic with not a lot of fruit. Really lost its balance and has a rather subdued nose
