Deep ruby color.
Aromas of plum, cherry, leather.
Dry. Flavors of tobacco, smoke, stewed black fruit, black pepper, charred bell pepper. Rich, chewy tannins. Wow!

Medium ruby color. Intense aroma of eucalyptus right out of the bottle, along with some red cherry notes. Red berry fruit on the pallet with additional notes of fresh herbs and vanilla. Chewy tannins but quite vibrant. Nice soft and creamy texture. Ready to drink now!

Had the ‘69 with dear friends and wow. so distinctive - stinky cheese on the nose - with strong earthy fungal overtones. such intensity, and once it opened it was incredibly incredibly smooth - with a bit of a chalky cherry finish - so nice with my smokey morel sauce! 49 years of love right there-feeling pretty darned lucky.

At bistro Zinc in Paris, had the 2008 and loved it. My wife said it had hints licorice, coffee, blackberry and oak. It was amazingly easy to drink with a great finish
