Tough transition after Zinfandel. Amazing after a few sips though. Still quite young and could have used a solid decant.

Red fruit in the nose, but very prominent blackberries in the palate. Flavors were enhanced with Carmella cheese. Mild tannins for a you wine, drank the 2018 in 2024.

Jan 12th, 2021Right bank Bordeaux blend of mainly Merlot and some Cab Franc, this wine had a little higher alcohol at 14.5%. It also had a big plum flavor with some hints of raspberry and truffle.

Гранат. Интенсивность средняя-, подлесок, сырость, животина, уваренные ягоды. Слишком развит. Со временем аромат жженого сахара. Тело среднее, танины средние и приятные. Полежавшие ягоды, чернослив, лакрица. Слишком взрослое для своего возраста, но неплохо.

Blackberry, cassis, and an early touch of fig that becomes more earthy--leather, mushroom, and floral(?) with aeration. Persistent and mildly chalky tannins afford a nice compliment with grilled filet mignon. Still too young; rating would likely increase (91-92?) with more time.

Deep ruby color. Close to its peak, but still bit closed up. Black fruits, spices and earth. Complex wine with great character. Truly fine and elegant Pomerol wine. Château Haut-Maillet is independently vinified at Château La Cabanne which also belongs to Estager family. It allows this wine to benefit from the latest equipment and technologies of their new vat. Aging In French oak barrels (30% new). 5 ha located on the NE of Pomerol. 79% Merlot and 21% Cabernet Franc vineyard with 21 years old vines. Rating 4,1/5
