Château Haut-Brion
Pessac-Léognan Red Bordeaux Blend
Still incredibly primary, as if just bottled, powerful nose dominated by classic cigar and cedar notes. Prominent, velvety oak led a rich, round palate of fine tannins and dark red cherry, baking chocolate. Tail went on forever. Give this 10 more years will be even better.

Dec 29th, 2023Medium deep ruby , garnet rim . Quite closed at first , touch of spice , wood smoke , grafite , coffee, cocoa . Touches of blackberry , cassis , violet . On the palate quite rich and young still , lots of tannin , balanced alcohol and fresh acidity . Cassis , tobacco , blackberry . Mineral , tobacco tinged finish of excellent length . Still young needs more time , better in 5 or 10 years and will last well a further 20. Great potential !

Aug 1st, 20242005 vintage. Über-dirty, stale cigar nose than carried through into a medium-bodied profile with some ripe plum and the lightest splash of watercress strewn about. Decanted for 2 hours before tasting. Currently, the giving nose is world-class. Wine needs approx 15 years to sync up. Still phenomenal.
