2000 Chateau Haut-Bages Averous Pauillac - Medium bodied with soft textured med (-) tannins, med acid. The ripeness of the fruit is still detectable yet the wine was overall muted. Tasted over the course of 3 hours with very little development other than aromas and flavors of "graphite like" minerals. Drink now.

May 17th, 2024Very alive and shockingly young. From well-stored OWC. Nose minty & cedary. Body fairly fat but extremely well balanced. Long. Drinks like a third growth, let alone second wine of a fifth growth.
