Château Hanteillan
Haut-Médoc Red Bordeaux Blend
Inky dark red. Black cherries, oak and a touch of licorice on the nose. Soft and smooth on the palate, displaying very ripe red fruits, touches of nutmeg and transitioning towards an ideal though typical leather, char, and pleasantly tannic finish. A very yummy left bank bord, will revisit once this cold passes as I'm sure I'm missing some really nice notes.

Now, I'm not rushing to open my 09 classified growths but certainly most Cru Bourgeois would work as well as just about any well made Superior. The Hanteillan has ripe, black, blue and red fruits, wet black earth, crushed minerals, stones, steeped dark tea, shaved wood, soft leather. Good valve wine that impresses.

Very good haut-medoc but not out of the ordinary

Jun 30th, 2015Dark ruby in color with a pink rim.
Medium bodied.
On the Nose red berries, cloves , earth and peppercorn.
Tart and earthy on the palate with blackberries, sour cherries, herbs ,forest floor and oak.
Long finish with full tannins.
Good but Not my taste.
14% alcohol by volume.

Licorice, black fruit, nice tannin and acid. Great value for something this enjoyable, although it may be a function of vintage. I paid $16

Feb 23rd, 2014Forest floor on the nose after opening but once it opened it was full of perfume of mostly flowers. Palate was dry cherry and finished with cassis and black currants. Bottle definitely needed to open before all the components revealed itself. Fairly well balanced acid, fruit and tannins while not being bone dry. Only 2016, but there was a lot of sediment at the end of the last glass.
