An impressive effort for the vintage, the 1978 is showing a lighter core of dark cherries and dark raspberries alongside the more prominent leather, tobacco and tilled earthy tones. Not short of freshness or verve the 1978 should really be consumed now while everything remains nicely intact. Drink 2021-2028- 91

‘78 Vintage. Lovely potpourri on the nose. Also showing earth and dark cherry. Palate is refreshing. Dark dried fruit and lightly gripping tannins on the tip of my tongue. Very long finish.

Another beautiful bottle. Plenty of fruit wrapped by herbs. Stunning aroma and a silky deep palate that warms your insides.

Lots of fun. @Ian Macdonald opened a stunner and then proceeded to take all my money on the poker table. This wine carries all the richness my wallet once had.

Tired, but I get Brett, bell pepper, cedar, pencil shavings, sour cherry. Mmmm

Killer aromatics and still has plenty of life to it. Leather, red/ dark fruit remain with a hint of silky tannin. Realty held up nice!

Quite herbaceous , more red fruit profile , undergrowth , pretty rustic , slightly light and short but balanced acidity , slightly drying tannin. However held up well in the glass for 30-40 minutes . Drink now will only go down hill from here

Quite clear appearance, medium light garnet core with quite pronounced wide terracotta rim . Quite herbal degraded fruit nose , quite light and simple, rustic . On the palate a bit weedy , mostly regraded red fruits , red currant , raspberry. Fills out on the palate ok, quite fresh acidity , soft melted tannins . Not a whole lot of depth , really quite light but well balanced with ok length . Drink now, will only continue downhill.
