Cru Bourgeois Médoc Red Bordeaux Blend

Deep Ruby color with aromas of berry fruits with cedar and herb spice notes, a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. On the palate flavors of blackberry and currants with notes of oak and bell pepper. Fine tannins, still tight, medium+ finish ending with fruit, cedar and earthy spice character.

Feels perfectly balanced. Old world earth, not much acid, not much fruit. Dry, not velvety but just pretty good.

2016 medoc with cabernet sauvignon blend.
the wine has potential for aging.
rusty red getting into brown. this is what i like the most.
nose is intensive: earthy, tobacco ruling.
in mouth plum, dark fruit, leather, smoke.

Dark, tightly knit & a bit burly. Very, very young.
Dark fruit - black currant, blackberries, dark plum with some tobacco leaf and a uplifting hint of pencil shavings and black currant leaf. A touch of mint perhaps?
On the palate very tightly knit (even after 24h!) with burly yet polished tannins, a creamy, velvety mouthfeel and juicy fresh. acidity. Nice balance, good depth, clear aging potential. A very nice, savoury Left Bank. A safe bet year in & year out.

From magnum this was purple with leather and dark fruit. Decanted in got better as the evening went on.
