Château Garraud
Lalande de Pomerol Red Bordeaux Blend

Drank 8/32/19
Nose very nice with plumbs, currants and earth. Palate with red and black cherry, earth, but perhaps lacking a bit of fruit and depth. Medium tannins and finish. Buy the '15 for a few bucks more.

I celebrated another year on this planet earlier this week, always glad when I am continuing to count days gone by! Some fun stuff in the works for tonight.
Dusty cherry, graphite, minimal wood influence.

Part of a lineup of 10 european wines my wife arranged for a birthday tasting with a number of friends.
Flavors come alive with a ribeye
Nose of black fruits and some earth and pepper notes. Dark flavors of blackberry and some tar and plums are a bit muted, but will likely improve with some time in the bottle. Finishes with dark fruits and dusty tannins.
3/20/8/4/4 +50=89 pts.
Will likely improve a couple of points with age to the 90-91 range. Not on the same level as the 2009.

A nice easy drinking Bordeaux table wine. Lots of dark berry and cassis fruit, medium bodied with light tannins and a short finish. A tasty, good value every day drinker.

Picked this bottle up from Total Wine a few years back. It was signed by the winemaker. I remember enjoying it at the time
The nose starts off nice with plum and gravel mixed with a bit of earth. Unfortunately it falls a bit flat on the palate which seems a bit thin. Dark fruits are present, but it does not possess the concentration and depth of the vintage. By no means bad, just a bit disappointing. Perhaps this is in a dumb phase, but I have not experienced a lot of that with other Bordeaux in this price range from the '15 vintage. You can do better for $30

First tried ‘15 about 2 years ago. Léon Nony bought vineyard in 1939, after his death in 1959, his son, Michel, then his grandson, Jean-Marc, continued his work. Blend of Merlot (93%), Cab Franc (4%) & Cab Sauv (3%), aged in French oak (25% new). Dark Ruby with aromas of dark berry fruits and smoky cedar notes. On the palate blackberry flavor with toasty oak, spice & cacao. Attractive tannins, ok balance, medium+ finish ending with an oaky earthy character. Ok for price, drink now, no further aging benefit!
