Vintage 2005 / I wanted a comforting wine, so better choose an older one. I wanted a reliable wine, so choose a right bank Bordeaux. I wanted a wine that cheeres me up, so it became Saint Emilion. Lots of red fruit. Well ripened, velvety taste, spicyness. Paired with a Flemish stew and cauliflower gratin. I think this is my last bottle, the best tasted.

Better than I remembered, maybe it was my stew or the citrus glazed turnips. One can never tell. Mushrooms, cinnamon, cherries, dirt, something like tree bark on the nose.
By now, the ‘19 is well integrated, the palate is smooth, luxurious as they say, but not heavy. A bit of tannins help with structure, and with stewed beef, a nice match. The finish is bitter cherry bright. Not hugely long, but fine.
Thanks @garageiste

Young, ripe, grapey, a bit boozy, needs some aging to settle down, good stuff, albeit not outstanding.
