Cuvée du Baron Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend

Black licorice, fig, mocha, potting soil, some more black and blue fruits, some pepper on the back of the palate, French oak influences, moderate plus tannin with as much or more acid behind it. I love this.

Body. Fruit. A tinge of Brett. It feels natural in this wine. Integrated. Still makes a nice glass of wine for the State of the Union!

Too much Brett

Classic CdP from a legendary producer. Tar earth leather and dark berry fruit. Thick. Like a piece of fine steak.

Brett up front. Blows off quick. Big fruit. Short finish.

More going on in this wine as compared to the Tradition bottling. Sweet raspberry, fresh purple flowers, leather, and loam.

Total steal. Gets bonus points for value

Smells like a forest and nice apples. Flavors are dynamic, spices, sweet marjoram, nice cranberry sauce, and dried cherries. Plus chocolate dusted truffles. Dry, but juicy. The tart, tannins and fruit are nicely balanced. Also a meaty streak. Wow this is bright and lovely stuff.
