For the weekend I have opened the 2010 Château Fleur Haut Gaussens Bordeaux Supérieur. 90% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon 14.5% Alcohol.

On the nose there is black cherry, blackberry, cassis, tobacco, graphite, tar, mocha and fresh earthy loam.

On the palate is black cherry, blackberry, licorice, tar, some tobacco, an earthy component and there is a heavy woody oak but not over powering.

This is a full bodied wine with medium + acidity and high grippy tannins that takes us to a long french oak finish. Please have a good weekend and please be safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Bordeaux superior from the fantastic 2009 vintage , a great value for money (about 13$ here in Switzerland). This blend is Merlot driven with 85% Merlot, 5% CS, 5% CF and 5% Malbec, modern Style. Coming from a small chateau who is producing wine for the 4th generation. It has a deep dark color, a lovely nose full of black fruits, black current and a touch of smoked oak and coffee, medium to full body with dry tannins and good acidity. Long dry finish. Needs still a bit of time. My score 87, drink to 2019.

Eminently drinkable Bordeaux. Solidly dry with light cherries somewhere in back and in the nose. Respectable and definitely worth repeat purchase.

Nose: warm baking spices, semisweet chocolate chips, minerals, dried dark fruit. Smells good.

Taste: good, but thinner than I expected. Medium weight. A lot more acidity than I expected too. Cassis and blackberry - and distinct cherry as time went on. Tannins have some bite, but don’t taste “green.” Good deal for the $11-12 I paid…I am not experience enough to be sure, but I do think some aging would make this really good. 89. Worth buying again.

Nice nose with oaky notes and currant and small red berries. There is a tiny bit of meat juice too. The palate is well made with a good width, some matter and a nice grainy mouthfeel that expand in the rear with a spherical effect before a great finish with fruits, that meat juice touch and a tiny touch of bitterness. I have had much worse Saint emilion grand cru

Nice Bordeaux to finish some work and watch the Caps game. Another good recommendation from Arrow Wine
