Typical St Julien seduction. The consistency of this wine is just mind blowing. Depth, elegance and gourmandise would best describe it. Much more to offer in the coming years.

Graphite, lead, pencil shavings... and a weird one, teriyaki/soy sauce. Not a big Bordeaux guy but this was cool.

Classic and elegant expression of a left bank Bordeaux- violet, blackberry, cassis, black plum, hints of leather and sweet spice, graphite, on a medium body with fairly integrated tannins (some grip) and a lasting taste of black fruit. Still could go another 5 years but showing nicely now and a harmonious pairing with short rib

Classic Ducru - The 2003 starts with notes of dark cherry and berry fresh and rich fruit but still structured with good length. The aromatics have become expressive with the time in bottle

Year after year we revisit this. Always approachable. Ever classy.

Managed very well for the vintage, rolling along with 11 years of age gracefully. #ducrubeaucaillou #supersecondgrowth #stjulien

Perfume of cedar, tobacco, leather and dark fruits. Palate still has grainy tannins - not fully integrated yet but close - lush plum and blackberry to fill things out that got deeper and more velvety with time and an excellent finish. Hot vintage, sure, but this one is a beauty and truly a noble wine - very special.
