Canon-Fronsac

Quite oxidative, slightly funky. Red currant, dried cranberry, figs, plums, leather, cassis and tobacco. Loaded with savory, exotic spice and red berry character. Elegant, old-school, dusty and bone dry. Proper Merlot.

A historic chateau perched on top of a sloping limestone plateau and facing south over the river Dordogne. Dark red with jammy fruit aromas, slight smoky spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry & plum, big style, with cacao & licorice notes. Smooth tannins good balance, lingering finish ending with mineral and spice notes. Good value.

Oxblood in hue and with smoke and gamey earth aromas on the nose. Stewed fig and plum, chocolate and tobacco on the palette, and well integrated structure. On the hot/porty side. Sort of a slut, but she's natural and wears lacy boutique lingerie.

full bodied. balanced. oak notes. nice fruit notes ofrasberry, cherry. can smell a bit of age...interesting for 2012 vint tasting at 2016. very nice wine

Dark fruit, hefty tannins, iron and cinders. Delicious with roasted lamb.

Great example of a canon fronsac. Stewed black fruit. Pepper and ripe tannic structure.

Potent nose. Lots of fresh raspberry, spice, and licorice. Racy and structured. This has all the freshness and levity the 2009 lacked.

Red fruit, raspberry, graphite, integrated oak, moderate tannins.
