Tasty little number!! Rustic, spicy, fruity. A lot of yum but not a lot of complexity. Just uncork and enjoy!

Carignan from 40 year old vines. A 50/50 mix of barrel fermentation & carbonic. This is a brilliant means of handling Carignan. It has the powerful, brooding dark fruit, but also shows a youthful approachability as the structure is tamed somewhat. I frankly find it astonishing that this can be on shelves for ten bucks. It is a bit one note, but that note is a really good one.

Aromas of raspberry jam, meat, cedar? Flavors are berries, pepper, meat. Soft tannins and acid. Really fun and easy.

A blend of 90% old vine Carignan and 10% Syrah made in the Languedoc-Rousillon region of France. Dark red with berry fruit and floral bouquet. On the palate plum and tart berry fruit flavors with some spice and licorice notes. Rustic tannins, medium length ending a bit harsh with spicy mineral character. Just ok, but I’ll grab something else. Tasting a Sample.
