I know I know, it's young but Wine Advocate thought it was a 97 so I thought I'd take it home and see what this vintage is all about in the Sauternes department. Nice perfume to the nose - orange zest, papaya, and Asian pear, and honeysuckle. The pallet shows zippy but appropriate acidity, and light color of its youth - pineapple, apricot preserves, Meyer lemon, and a very faint hint of white pepper spice mixed with a soft mineral note. I definitely think this was a great vintage, but not quite a 97. I will say that I'd love to see this at its plateau. For 2nd Cru, this is outstanding in its value ($19.99 for the 375ml). Buy and lay away for a little while.

This was a bottle that was Coravined about 6+ months ago with about 3/4 remaining. Although young, I’ve always been a bit conservative when it comes to Coravined bottles and their freshness. Great sweet wine to pair with Thanksgiving food.

My first experience with Doisy-Vedrines, having only had Doisy-Daene previously. Would love to do a side by side. Tropically exotic and rich. Botrytis to the core. Pineapple upside down cake on the nose with honeyed apricots and orange marmalade. Viscous and totally giving on the palate with yellow fruit and and sweet spices. There’s not that honey roasted cashew profile I get with my favorite Sauternes, but this is a delicious and easy going wine that sports a great QPR. Room for improvement. (Also, this is evidently Barsac but labeled as Sauternes).

A blend of 85% Semillon & 15% Sauvignon Blanc. Had a vertical tasting, this is #3, aromas of sweet rich honey and citrus notes with unmistakable Botrytis (Noble Rot) aromas. As the wines get younger, it is obvious more time is needed to bring out the complexity. High acidity, full body and complex. The palate yields rich stone & tropical fruits and citrus tones, slight orange character, which should develop nicely with time. Good value. Tasting Sample.

I don’t mix sweet and alcohol but this was exquisite. A perfect dessert.

Lovely Sauternes with just the right balance of sweetness and fruit to go with Szechuan food. Perfect with my fish, tofu, and chili dish.

Honeycomb, candied apricots and peach, aromas and flavors, could use a little more acidity or citrus flavors but overall very good
