Is this the best wine in Beaujolais? I think so. Super refined and complex nose of leather, dark cherries, earth and mineral. A lipstick like intensity. Saline and mineral. Just a stunning refined and complex nose that defies the appellation. Palate is round, elegant and concentrated, with such grace and nimbleness. Amazing elegant and delicate structure suggests this has a decade or more. Wonderful long finish. Grand Cru all the way. A stunning wine and I can’t wait to see how it opens.

The nose starts off bretty but soon develops into just stunning aromas. Flowers, pastille, raspberry, so much depth, smells like an epic Volnay or Chambolle. Mineral and earthy and so so floral. Also that mineral is granite beyond belief. Palate is beyond belief. No carbonic here so deep, deep penetrating fruit and structure. Amazing density and purity. Holy shit. This is amazing. Huge massive structure and stunning stunning depth. Bomb ass bojo. But really so much more.

Beautiful Fleurie even on its second day.
Full of chocolate, liquorice, a bit gamy,
Chock full of tannins that are gentle but assertive. These have proved delicious, and with four years of age, some seriousness as well. A slight chill does great things.

N: Caught between Burg and CDP.
Pepper, garrigue, souis bois, black and red, animalistic in the best way. it smells tarry, spice, dark fruits. ( so far, it’s giving the last Clos de Roilette a run for it’s money)
P: light textured and deep, ( ha) tarry, plums, liquorice, chalky blackness.
Amazing Fleurie!
thanks @firstbottlewines
