Crozes-Hermitage Syrah

I just love Syrah from the Northern Rhône. This is a great example of one that isn’t too expensive but it delivers big time.

Cured meats, pepper, boysenberry, smoke, dried herbs, crushed rocks and great acid.

Black pepper. Black fruit. Yum.

Well this showed some nice development on it some mushrooms and leather, but also a bit of oak. But it was really quite balanced and lovely!

Beautiful nose: black pepper, olive, leather, on the structure great acidity, medium plus tannins, long finish moderate alcohol. Beautiful wine - no Brett on this vintage

Delightful, well structured, moderate tannins, meaty, olive, and some classic Gigondas Brett

Drinking well now. Herbaceous but not funky enough for me.

Dried cherry, herb de Provence, pleasant amount of Brett, nice balance and solid grip at this point.
