Crémant made in the "ancestrale" style. Bready notes dominate with pear in the background. Lovely acidity but light on the bubbles. Pleasing but not a show-stopper. Still worth a try for the price.

This French sparkler arrived like an oasis in the desert. The first bubbly I've come across in sub-Saharan Africa that didn't look like a candy bar in a bottle--and the first bio/organic wine I've found here! I nearly flung the cork off and bathed in it!! =) Crisp and lively extra-brut bubbly from the Loire Valley--practically evaporates on the tongue while a fresh compote of apples and strawberries pleasantly lingers. Ancestral method sparkling without sweetness, just fruit and fine bubbley goodness! :)
