Cuvée des Lys Tavel Rosé Blend

deep red orange color; subtle aromatics, red berries, blood orange, lavender; intense flavors, wild strawberries, raspberry, red plum, spicy finish; medium body, medium acidity, a bit of structure, 13.5% ABV; made with blend of 60% Grenache, 30% Clairette, and 10% Syrah, vines averaging over 40 years of age, farmed biodynamically as of 2016, just across the Rhône River from Châteauneuf-du-Pape; lovely flavors but lacking a bit in freshness; $16

Rhonsé. Interesting. Big mouth feel compared to the majority of rosé I've had.

Simple yet pleasant fruit. A little dull - could use more acidity - and some heat on the finish.

2014 - Complex enough for food but simple enough for quaffing

Loads of strawberries and watermelon and they need time to surface. Tasty on Day 1, better on Day 2! (Rating for Day 2.)

Revisiting an old friend

Mmmm rosè, not a bad Tavel.

Wonderful combination of bright fruit and structure. People sometimes forget that rosés are red wines, but this wine was a wonderful partner for a roast lamb and eggplant dish. Have this wine with food, and enjoy!
