Very packed and dense. Sweet edges. Violet and tart cherry. Pure and good but needs time

The 2016 Clos de Vougeot is an exquisite wine. A burst of sweet red berry and floral notes make a strong opening statement. Delicate and lithe on the palate, the 2016 is such a sensual Burgundy. Clean mineral notes lend vibrancy throughout. I would prefer to cellar the 2016 for at least a few years to let the bright acids mellow a touch, but opening a bottle now is far from a crime. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, October 2020)

Pepper, floral, mint, tea, earth, cherry, red plum. Baby bit of bretty funk. Almost smelled like a right bank Bordeaux at first. I like it, not everyone else did.

Touch of bacon (oak) on first sniff. Quite luscious fruit which is needed to balance the oak. A rather opulent Wine which will need time for the parts to come together. Served #4
