Château de Goëlane
Bordeaux Supérieur Red Bordeaux Blend
Bordeaux, France
2020 vintage. Château de Goëlane is the very first estate acquired by the Castel family in 1957. It is located in the Entre Deux Mers region, where only whites can be sold under the appellation. Therefore the reds can only carry the humble "Bordeaux " or " Bordeaux Supérieur" appellation. Mainly Merlot (75%), blended with 24% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Petit Verdot. Aged in stainless steel for 18 months, with 40% oak staves. A smooth, easy-drinking, well-balanced Bordeaux, that is hard to beat for value for money. Abv. 14%.

Quality is good. No green notes, fine grained tannin carpet, not terribly expressive, but a nice merlot dominate blend from the Entre-Deux-Mers (75% Merlot, 22% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Malbec)
